Nicole Baker Cert PFS (MP)  I have been in the Financial Services sector since 2000 and worked firstly as a tied adviser then as an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I decided to specialise in mortgages and protection in 2002.  I stopped advising in 2019.

Whilst growing my UK mortgage broking company I needed a compliant back office processing system for my mortgage and protection files.  I was co-founder of the award winning MortgageStream back office software, which we started in 2002, based in my home town of Torquay, Devon.  With many changes in the financial services sector, I was the Financial & Operations Director, responsible for making sure that MortgageStream® software systems, controls and reporting were compliant with the MCCB (Mortgage Code Conduct Board).  Subsequently, on the 31st October 2004 the regulation of mortgages transferred to the Financial Services Authority (FSA). I was responsible for the compliance, analysis of the FSA Consultation Papers and  making sure that the software was compliant within the new regime.  New additions and features in the software included definable modules such as Treating Customers Fairly.  We have sold the MortgageStream Ltd business in March 2012 to Mortgage Brain Ltd.
